Description

The Jungle Book, a collection of short stories, was written by Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936). Rudyard Kipling was born in India and was a prolific writer of short stories, poetry and novels. In 1907, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first English-language writer to receive this award. The Jungle Book is one of his best-known works.

The stories follow the adventures of a boy called Mowgli in the Indian jungle. Mowgli has been brought up by a family of wolves, but he eventually discovers that he does not really belong in the world of wolves or in the world of humans. Is there a solution to this dilemma?
